The Hot Banana Pepper plant, also known as the Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper, is a profuse bearer of 6-inch-long, medium hot peppers. With a Scoville rating of 3000-5000, it is hot and tangy enough to spice up a dish without burning your mouth. These crunchy full of flavor Hot Banana Peppers are one of the most versatile peppers around. Excellent for pickling, frying, or roasting. It can be diced and used for salsa and relishes, stuffed for chili rellenos. If pickled, you can use it on sandwiches, salads, and as a pizza topping too. It is a food friendly pepper that can be used in just about any dish. Not every pepper can make this claim. Place plants 18 inches apart in a sunny area with a normal well-draining soil. Pepper plants need mulch to retain soil moisture as well as prohibiting weed growth. Adequate regular watering are required. These peppers even produce well in hot weather. The plants will grow 18-24 inches tall and produce 6 inch peppers that start out a light green/yellow, then yellow as they ripen ( it is possible for orange and red colors when ripe too). They are a very early, very productive pepper maturing at around 75 days (from seeding). They will bear an abundant crop all summer long
