This Magnolia is a deciduous, small to medium sized tree or shrub, reaching 50 to 65 feet in height and spread. The leaves are alternate, obovate to obovate-oblong and dark green above, lighter below. The 9 petalled flowers are 5-6? across, white and fragrant, opening before M.x soulangiana.
