After four years of tutoring thechildren, St Vincent was able to continue his education. Hebegan the studies of divinity at the University of Toulouseand became a priest at the age of twenty. During his travels,St. Vincent was taken prisoner by Turkish pirates and sold asa slave. He was kept as a slave for two years and escapedhis imprisonment of slavery by converting one of hisowners to Christianity.When St. Vincent returned to Paris he establishedorganizations and missio
