Triple bill of Christmas-themed features. 'Noel' (2005) is an ensemble drama in which five New Yorkers come together on Christmas Eve, each seeking his or her own personal miracle. Susan Sarandon plays Rose, a widowed editor who spends far too much time at the hospital bed of her Alzheimers-stricken mother. Charlie (Robin Williams) is the mysterious man who later prevents her from possibly jumping in the East River. Meanwhile Nina (Penelope Cruz) gets tired of the violently jealous outbreaks of her cop boyfriend, Mike (Paul Walker), and breaks their engagement. An obsessive old waiter (Alan Arkin) is convinced Mike is the reincarnation of his dead wife, while in another story a troubled young man (Marcus Thomas) attempts to smash up his hand so he can attend an emergency room Christmas party. Matt McCoy stars in the family comedy 'The Town That Cancelled Christmas' (2006) as Norbert Bridges, who moves with his family to Greenlawn just before the Christmas holidays. Norbert immediately begins to stir up trouble with his neighbour, Donnie Manning (Adam Ferrara), the reigning champion of the annual Greenlawn Christmas Decorating Contest. When the pair's competitiveness gets out of control, the town decides to cancel Christmas. The two feuding neighbours decide to put aside their differences in an attempt to save Christmas. 'Hansel and Gretel' (2002) is a modern adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairytale. Hansel (Jacob Smith) and Gretel (Taylor Momsen) are sent into the forest by their evil stepmother (Delta Burke) in the hope they will become lost. Instead, the pair meet up with the Sandman (Howie Mandel), who takes them on a string of new adventures.
