The Cave of the Yellow Dog is a captivatingly beautiful story of nomadic family life in the endless expanse of the Mongolian landscape and of the age-old bond between man and dog. Six year-old Nansal finds a little dog in a cave along the cliffs and names him Zochor ('Spot'). When Nansal's father refuses to let her keep the dog she defies him and spends the next few the weeks trying keep her four-legged friend a secret from her dad.
