Art by Lawson wood, sometimes Clarence Lawson wood, (23 August 1878 - 26 October 1957). he was an English painter, illustrator and designer known for humorous depictions especially a chimpanzee called gran'pop, whose annuals circulated around the world. This February 24th, 1940 collier's Magazine cover shows an older chimpanzee in clothes, smoking, and riding Skis while a younger chimp pushes with the poles.
