Burnet Saxifrage Root, known also as Burnet-Saxifrage, Solidstem Burnet Saxifrage, Lesser Burnet is a plant native of the British Isles and temperate Europe and Western Asia. The species have been introduced and naturalized in New Zealand and North America. The root has a spice-like odour and a sharp, bitter taste. Suggested Use: To make a decoction, take 1 tbsp of Burnet Saxifrage Root and pour with 2 cups (400ml) of cold water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes, then strain. Drink chilled three times a day for 150-200 ml. To prepare an infusion, take 1 tbsp of Burnet Saxifrage Root and pour with 1 cup (250ml) of boiling water (or milk), leave to infuse under the cover for at least 20-30 minutes, then strain. You can sweeten the beverage with honey. Drink up to 2-3 glasses a day. To make a tincture, fill the jar with 100 g of the Burnet Saxifrage Root and 400 ml of 60-70% alcohol. Close the lid and leave it aside in a dark place for at least 14 days. After two weeks, filter and pour into a bottle. Drink 5 ml 2-3 times a day.
