Product Description The Brave Archer and His Mate is the fourth in a series originally starring international favorite Alexander Fu Sheng as master martial artist Kuo Tsing. But Fu only appears here in a cameo as the son of a character played by Lung Tien-chiang (best known as a spear master in the "Venoms" film The Flag Of Iron). Kuo Chue is the new hero (as he is in the "Venoms" films as well) who is out to defeat the mass murderer of his martial arts masters. In fact, this fast-moving, action-packed, Venom-filled film is even choreographed by the three core "Venoms", making it a unique combination of grand "Martial Arts World" mayhem and special Venom-style high flying kung-fu. About the Director On June 22 2002, Hong Kong cinema lost one of its most prolific and highly influential figures when director Chang Cheh passed away at the age of 79. Chang directed more than 90 movies during the course of his career, including such classics as One- Armed Swordsman, Golden Swallow, Chinatown Kid, The Five Venoms, and so many more. Chang was born in Mainland China in 1923, and received his education at Chungking University before he first became involved in the film industry in 1947, when he wrote the script for a Shanghainese movie, The False Faced Woman. In the years that followed, Chang would direct some of the greatest martial arts movies ever made including the cult classics as Na Cha The Great, Men From The Monastery, Crippled Avengers, Ten Tigers Of Kwang Tung and many more. Shortly before his death, Chang received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2002 Hong Kong Film Awards. He will be remembered as the Godfather of Hong Kong Action Cinema.
