Be Legendary Knot or NOT a Knot Team Building Activity Game Teamwork Individual vs Team

This activity will challenge your group to make a decision and stand by it, understand and accept the decisions of others, and see the whole picture and not just the so called “critical information”. While the goal is for the 'group' to decide, immediately individuals make independent decisions without considering what they should do as a group. Participants become entrenched in their position, attempting to get others to accept their view of the situation. Rarely does someone change their position once they have taken a 'stand'. Most of our jobs involve a heavy amount of decision making. Our decision making is best when other opinions are heard and evaluated into the decision. This activity will help people experience how easily that happens. Many of us make decisions that affect one person to thousands of people everyday. As most of us make decisions we tend to decide based on our own personal perceptions even when outside opinions are available that would help us. This activity is a great closing activity as a final 'challenge'. Many groups get quite good at these activities and this will test them and provide them with something to think about moving forward. How are we actually viewing ourselves and our 'positions'? Am I digging my heels in because I am right, or because I am in love with MY idea? It can be very difficult to put the ego aside and be a truly selfless team member. This activity will help participants experience themselves authentically in this space without blatantly hitting them upside the head if they happen to be extremely stubborn and only willing to keep their 'position'.
