THIS IS A BLOCK OF 8 STAMPS AS PICTURED. ~ On October 10, 1968 in Little Rock, AR; the US Post Office issued this stamp in recognition of the economic potential of the 1.2 billion project of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS). It was the largest civil works project ever undertaken by the US Army Corp of Engineers at that time. It eventually provided Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma with a barge route to the Mississippi River and became one of the nation's major inland waterways.
