Aromatic cocktail bitters with notes of warm cinnamon, allspice and a hint of plum. If you enjoy crafting cocktails at home you will certainly appreciate the unique yet subtle flavor that Amère de Saizon aromatic bitters adds to each sip. It is handcrafted in small batches by the Sirop De Saizon family in south Louisiana! Suggested serving size a few dashes and this offering is a 5 oz. bottle. The whiskey old fashioned is a classic cocktail that combines aromatic bitters, simple syrup (sirop), orange zest, a cherry in some form and finally bourbon or rye whiskey. Each ingredient plays an important role in making the whiskey take on a new life and dance on your palate as you savor every sip. The aromatic bitters is going to prepare your tongue in advance of the 100 proof bourbon that’s headed its way in the next millisecond!! The orange zest is for your nose…it balances out the bitterness from the aromatic bitters and the oak, caramel and floral notes from the bourbon. Now that you have your senses on high alert your palate and your nose will begin to enjoy notes of molasses, vanilla bean and a hint of toasted nuts…the SIROP has arrived!! The star of the show comes next and there is no mistaking who this is….of course the bourbon or rye whiskey!! We believe the whiskey is the main focus of the cocktail, we tend to use Buffalo Trace bourbon, Sazerac rye or Four Roses small batch bourbon to fully compliment the simple mixture of ingredients previously placed in the glass and provide an acceptable climax that your taste buds were hoping for! Oh I almost forgot about the cherry….sooo drop a cherry in your drink, we prefer Bada Bing cherries, to add just a smidge of sweetness. The final step is to add ice and serve!
