Add sound to your projects with the well-designed PAM8302A 2.5W Class D mono amplifier. This breakout board comes with a mono filter-free Class D audio power amplifier with a differential input. The board includes a volume control potentiometer, and an optional power shutdown pin that can be used to turn the amplifier off.
This Class D audio amplifier is able to operate from a 2.0~5.5V DC input. Class D amplifiers use PWM for power efficiency. This one uses a 250 kHz PWM output at over 90% efficiency when driving an 8? speaker (@0.5+ Watts), making it perfect for portable and battery-powered DIY projects.
The PAM8302 has 24dB gain that can be reduced using the onboard trim pot. The A+ and A audio inputs of the amplifier go through 1.0uF capacitors, so they are fully 'differential'. If your audio source does not have differential outputs, simply tie the "Audio " pin to ground.
The output is "Bridge Tied", meaning that the output pins connect directly to the speaker connections with no connection to ground. The left and right channel "negative" connections should not be connected together, and the amplifier's output should not be connected to another amplifier, it should drive the speakers directly.
