Want to measure distance to an object accurately? Then the GP2Y0A21 Time of Flight sensor is for you! The GP2Y0A21 is a distance measuring sensor unit composed of a position sensitive detector (PSD), infrared emitting diode (IRED), and signal processing circuit. This device outputs the voltage corresponding to the detection distance. So this sensor can also be used as a proximity sensor. It provides accurate distance measurement (up to 80cm). Factors such as the reflectivity of the object, the environmental temperature, and the operating duration are not affected easily for distance detection because of the sensor's triangulation of the emitted signal. This sensor package makes it easy to connect it to your microcontroller board or single-board computer! The 3 pins correspond to power (VCC, GND), and an analog voltage signal proportional to the distance to an object (if present). The GP2Y0A21 uses a 3-pin JST connector that connects to a 3-pin JST cable for Sharp distance sensors (included). Features: Operating voltage: 4.5~5.5VDC Average current consumption: 30mA Distance measuring range: 10~80cm (4~32in) Output type: analog voltage Update period: 38±10ms Size: 44.5mm × 18.9mm × 13.5mm (1.75in × 0.75in × 0.53in) We have written useful guides for getting you started with the GP2Y0A21: ESP8266: http://learn.acrobotic.com/tutorials/
