Description This breakout board provides a convenient way to start using the popular CCS811, a digital Air Quality Sensor Module that measures a wide range of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), in particular, equivalent Carbon Dioxide (eCO2). When connected to your microcontroller (e.g., Arduino) or single-board computer (e.g., Raspberry Pi) over I2C it will return a Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) reading and an equivalent Carbon Dioxide reading (eCO2). The onboard CCS811 is comprised by a standard hot-plate Metal Oxide (MOx) sensor, and a small microcontroller that controls power to the plate, reads the analog voltage, and provides an I2C interface to read from.  NOTE: Although the sensor works great, please use certified equipment for reliable detection of gas leakages. This sensor will measure eCO2 (equivalent calculated carbon-dioxide) concentration within a range of 400 to 8192 parts per million (ppm), and TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compound) concentration within a range of 0 to 1187 parts per billion (ppb). Per its datasheet, the CCS811 is also sensitive to alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, organic acids, amines, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. This breakout board makes it easy to connect this sensor to your microcontroller board or single-board computer such as Arduino, ESP8266, BeagleBone or Raspberry Pi!
