The flickering flame features a steady burning LED at the base of the flame, while the LED at the tip of the flame flickers on and off to create a realistic flame look. The candle operates on 3 AA batteries (not included). 70 days of battery life on 1 set of batteries. Batteries install in the candlestick to provide a sleek look that is presentable on tabletops as well as on your windowsills. Once you insert the batteries and screw on the cap the candle's auto timer will turn the candle on for 6 hours then turn off for 18 hours. Cycle will repeat daily.
