The purpose of the Steam Ring is to create a seal to prevent steam or hot water from leaking from between the Filter Holder Assembly and the Thermal Block Assembly. This part has a tendency to lose its ability to seal over time. It may be a good idea to order an extra one, to keep it on hand.
