2nd Grade Reading Learning Palette Reading Comprehension

Reading Comprehension includes 144 challenges: 12 cards with 12 challenges on each card. Each card is self-correcting. These cards give children practice in reading, understanding word meanings, using context clues, and critical thinking. The activities on the cards progress in this order: Card 1 - Matching statements and questions to pictures. Card 2 - Matching science sentences to pictures. Card 3 - Reading and answering riddles. Card 4 - Reading and answering riddles. Card 5 - Reading and answering animal riddles. Card 6 - Reading and answering occupation riddles. Card 7 - Reading and answering descriptive riddles. Card 8 - Using the context to find the missing words in a poem. Card 9 - Using the context to find the missing words in a song. Card 10 - Using the context to find the missing words. Card 11- Using the context to find the missing words in a letter. Card 12 - Using the context to find the missing words. The activities on this set of cards will help develop reading comprehension skills. Children who comprehend what they are reading are able to think about the words being read and understand their meaning in the context in which they are being used.
