1999 ALFRED LUNT and LYNN FONTANNE 3287 Plate Block of 4 x 33 cents US Postage Stamps

In 1999 the USPS honored the world-famous husband and wife acting team Alfred Lunt (1892-1977) and Lynn Fontanne (1887-1983) performing together in over two-dozen Broadway shows. The pair met on Broadway in 1917, and were married May 26, 1922. In 1958, the Globe Theatre in New York City was renamed the in their honor. Unlike most commemoratives, this stamp was released only in New York City and through selected philatelic outlets.
