THIS IS A BLOCK OF 6 STAMPS AS PICTURED. ~ On February 1, 1990 in Chicago, IL, the USPS issued the thirteenth stamp in the Black Heritage Series honoring Ida B. Wells, who was born a slave in 1862. She devoted her entire life to educating people about the horrors of racial discrimination. In 1909, she helped found the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
