He fired General Douglas MacArthur during the Korean War and made the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Truman is also remembered for his personal credo, "The buck stops here". Harry Truman was born on May 8, 1884 in Lamar, Missouri and he died on December 26, 1972 at the age of 88.
