The 1967 Canadian 25 cent coin is a valuable piece of Canadian history and a great addition to any coin collection. This coin was struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. The Canadian Confederation was the process by which the British North American colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into one Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867. The events leading to this union were a series of conferences and negotiations that happened between 1864 and 1867, and it is considered a defining moment in Canadian history as it marked the beginning of the country as it is known today. The coin features an image of a Bobcat on the reverse side, designed by Alex Colville. The obverse side of the coin features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, facing right with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "D.G. REGINA" (which stands for "By the Grace of God, Queen") around the portrait. Made of 80% silver and 20% copper, the coin has a diameter of 23.88mm and weight of 6.27g. This coin is a must-have for any collector of Canadian coins or a great gift for history and coin enthusiasts.
