Tall blue cornflower, also called bachelor's buttons, is a 2' to 2.5' tall introduced annual. It features prolific production of 1.5" wide bright blue flower with ragged tipped petals. This plant flowers in the spring and early summer, but the flowering period can be easily extended by cutting back the spent flowers. This plant prefers dry to medium moisture soils but does not tolerate drought. It requires a full sun site. Tall blue cornflower is easy to establish and requires little maintenance.
