Bhut Jolokia Pepper: AKA ghost chili, naga jolokia, or ghost jolokia. Used as a heat spice as well as a summer heat remedy.
It is used in both fresh and dried forms. Known to be the hottest pepper in the world.
Planting Tips: In order for these peppers to grow best, your climate should most closely match that of their native India, which has five months of intensely high humidity and temperatures.
Indoor or Greenhouse growers have lots of luck with keeping temps maintained at the 75. Seeds for ghost peppers take around 35 days to germinate in very warm soil between 80-90. Keeping the soil moist - Soak the seeds in water and 10 percent hydrogen peroxide for a minute to increase germination success, and use full sun or lighting. Outdoors peppers will need at least 3 mths of 70 temps an organic matter added to the soil. Use a controlled release fertilizer to feed during the whole growing season.
Helpful to wear gloves when handling the seeds as the oils can give off heat also.
